About Aaron

Aaron has been working in the mental health space since 2017, and in this time has worked with a wide variety of groups from large organisations (5000+ employees), to government departments,  not for profits and community groups. He is passionate about creating mentally healthier communities and sharing his knowledge to do so. Aaron holds a psychology degree and combines his formal education with his lived experience as a suicide survivor and as someone who carers for family members with mental illness and conditions to provide a unique, relatable and evidence informed perspective on mental health.

Aaron is an experienced facilitator having trained over 8000 individuals. He is an experienced public speaker, performing a number of key notes at national conferences and tailored presentations at countless events from business wide webcasts to opening community fund raisers. He is experienced in workplace mental health strategy development, assessment and revision, and improving policy to better address the  intersectionality between organisational and humanistic factors.

Before beginning his career in the mental health space, Aaron worked across a range of industries with the majority of his time being spent in trade roles and he is a qualified electrician to this day, all be it likely a little out of practise. Aaron has had a significant change in perspective around mental health and is not some one who 'got it' in his early career, because of this able to connected to audiences across the whole spectrum of mental health awareness.

As a counsellor Aaron's areas of interest include, Men's and youth mental health, supporting loved ones with mental ill health, relationships, conflict, self harm and suicidality.
